The answer to both of those questions is YES...
In a shtf scenario Law enforcement, as you know, will go to craps.....IF I were still able to make it to work , big IF, my main goal would be protecting you and yours from the looters/gang bangers and their likes (blue helmets?)..I would not ask anything of you in return. Would welcome any disciplined common sense person who wanted to help..
I'm the same as you... I want to raise my family, earn a living and be surrounded by like-minded, good people....
Well Patriot LEO allow me to first say that you have the right mindset & that's goes far. I'd like to add the LEO quoted in the origional post doesn't IMHO & I've stated why previously.
I will tell you I am extremely distrustful of all LEOs I utterly hate the profession; in part due to bad experiences with bad LEOs & in part due to my belief that everyone should takecare of themselves. I'm afraid that in all honesty I (& many others) will not trust a LEO I do not personally know simply because I don't trust the job.
Personally I think LEOs such as yourself will be more or less catching it from all sides. Which is truly a shame to behold anytime a bad LEO gets away with a crime & other LEOs don't speak up publically they at least appear to silently condone the crimes of their peers.
