There will be no big dramatic incident. The world is too big and redundant for that.

The murder of civilisation will be by a million cuts during years of melancholic stupidity. Someone will get to pull a trigger or press a button on occasion, but nothing big and productive towards the furtherment of liberty or enlightenment will happen.
