As for someone talking about some sort of action, I think that depends on the particulars, entirely. Nowdays especially, you are getting hotheads around some of the various groups who are just jumpy and want to do things.
The Occupy crowd right now are going through this with the Black Block Anarchists. Apparently a lot of police agent types out of Canada like to impersonate the Black Block types, but then in the US, a lot of them actually are hotheads and eaqer to go game on with the authorities.
Something I am noticing in some of the videos about them is that a lot of them will engage in a hit on the perimeter of a riot police formation, then back out and taunt, while waving flags normally associated with the patriot movement. they are getting known for tactics which confuse the police and leave their flanks wide open, or will use Occupy as a frontal distraction force while moving in on less protected areas and overwhelming the sparse police presence there.
I strongly suspect it is some of those people who got taken down locally last week, but they were playing fairly clever if the allegations are true. Being tame here in Portland but raising hell in Seattle, using state lines and distance to shield themselves from pursuit. Chances are they got ratted out from among their own though.
