"Earlier today, DHS Secretary Napolitano announced that this incident is of national significance and the Department of Interior has announced that they will be sending SWAT teams to the Gulf to inspect all platforms and rigs. And a SWAT Team knows what about drilling Oil? Or Oil Rigs? WTF ??

WTF ?? I was wondering the same thing. I thought I had "mis-heard" at first, but he did say "SWAT." Far be it from me to defend ole Barry, but I honestly don't think he knew what he was talking about. I don't think that idiot knows a SWAT team from a swap meet. MMS(Minerals Management Service) is the federal regulatory agency that is over things like oil drilling. They don't travel with SWAT teams. The US Coast Guard also has some regulatory power over certain oilfield practices. If a "SWAT" team were to be deployed it would most likely be by the USCG. I spent a few years in the oilfield and never saw a SWAT team utilized. Even when we got boarded by CBP-ICE they only brought sidearms and a dog. And they were actively searching for illegals. Somebody screwed up his teleprompter.

They were sent out to the rigs to make sure the drug shipments were still ok and on there way.
Gotta keep that black budget money coming in.

I'm not big on conspiracy theories, but the North Koreans are just crazy enough to do something like this. Onward and upward, airforce

Just a thought, but it seems strange that just 2 weeks after Obama promotes off-shore drilling, that this happens.
There are several players that could gain, but lets not leave off Iran and the Arab states, who would be hurt more than anyone by the US increasing their own internal production of oil.
